Introduction to Robotics I

Introduction to Robotics 1 covers aspects of mechanical design and fabrication used in robotics. Students work using Autodesk Inventor to design different mechanisms. The course covers machining and fabrication topics, to give students an appreciation for how their designs need to be made. The course also has opportunities in 3D printing, to give another option for hands on exercises in the class.

Grade: Suggested for Sophomore or Junior Year

(Prerequisite: Algebra)

Introduction to Robotics II

Introduction to Robotics 2 covers aspects of robotics control systems, and gives students an opportunity to build control for a robot from the ground up, which includes electrical and software design.  By the end of the course, students will be able to take a robot design, and have the know-how of what is needed to develop software to run the robot.

Grade: Suggested for Sophomore or Junior Year

Applied Robotics

The Applied Robotics course encompasses everything needed to produce a robot for a FIRST Robotics Competition. This course topics include, Mechanical design and Fabrication targeted towards robot manufacturing. The Electronic and Software components introduce the students to the control system section of robot development. This course will also have students form Graphic designs and draft award submissions to strengthen technical writing. After taking the lessons, students work and design a robot through the Northern New York Robotics Academy's (NNYRA) online platform. Students in the course can elect ($225/ Student) to receive college credit for taking the course through Clarkson University.

Grade: Suggested for Junior or Senior Year
